When creating a tax invoice for your customers, the Australian Tax Office (ATO) requires that it include the following information, including:
+ that the document is clearly intended to be a tax invoice;
+ your identify;
+ your Australian Business Number (ABN);
+ the date of invoice issue;
+ a brief description of what you sold, including quantity and price; and
+ GST (if applicable) and to which items GST is applied.

If your invoice is for sales of over $1,000, you need to show your customer’s identity or ABN.
